The New Hampshire Humanities Council will host a Humanities Fair to audition new programs for its 2008 Humanities to Go catalog on Saturday, May 3 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Pleasant View Retirement in Concord. Thirty-five scholars have applied to present more than 50 new programs for possible inclusion in the catalog, which will be released this fall.
The Fair will feature proposed new Humanities to Go programs in a number of humanities disciplines including history, literature, folklore, philosophy, and living history. In fact, Mark Twain, Susan B. Anthony and Paul Revere’s mother-in-law may all appear at the fair as portrayed by living history presenters.
Programs will be evaluated by scholars in a number of fields. We also invite members of the public to join us to view and rate proposed new programs. Join us from 9 a.m. to noon, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., or for the day. Lunch will be available at $10 per registrant, or participants may bring a brown bag lunch. Space is limited and preregistration is required.
The Humanities Council is grateful to our friends at Pleasant View Retirement for the use of their beautiful facility for this event.
